Braden Young (b. 1982, Philadelphia) is a contemporary artist whose wall sculptures investigate the boundaries of perception through the transformation of everyday objects. Working primarily with discarded and found objects, Young reimagines the mundane, elevating the familiar into sculptural forms that blur the lines between utility and aesthetic value.
Rooted in the visual language of vintage pop culture and shaped by his life in Philadelphia, Young’s work channels the textures, nostalgia, and complexities of the city’s layered identity. By drawing from mid-century media, retro consumer packaging, and forgotten urban ephemera, his sculptures offer a tactile reflection on memory, mass production, and cultural residue.
Through this process of reconfiguration and reinterpretation, Young challenges viewers to reconsider what is seen and often overlooked. Each piece serves as both an artifact and a provocation—inviting moments of wonder, recognition, and re-evaluation of the objects that surround us.
