Workshop: Relaxing Abstract Painting on Yupo Paper

Create an abstract painting to take home with you! In this workshop, we’ll focus on non-objective painting on yupo- a smooth resin paper that works great with water media. Yupo allows for the use of a lot of water without buckling, giving the artist the ability to easily create blended, flowing washes of color, and allows for a lot of experimentation and play with paint. All art experience levels are welcome, and all materials will be provided for your use during the class
About the Teacher:
Kelly Schultz is a visual artist based in Philadelphia, PA. She received her BFA from Montserrat College of
Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, with a focus in painting/drawing and a minor in art history. Her abstract
paintings utilize dripping and flowing paint/water, shadowy forms, graphite marks, lines, and
occasionally text to explore themes of nostalgia, ephemerality, religion, and magic.
