Mary P. Engel is a illustrator and painter from Pottstown, PA. She went to the University of the Arts in Center City Philadelphia, obtaining a B.S. in Illustration. Focusing on works featuring animals (primarily bunnies), she offers an unique blend between bright and bold colors with somber expressions, challenging our emotions with each piece.
She is most known for her series “Sadness Rabbit”, inspired after the tragic loss of her son Dylan in 2016. On the back of each of her original pieces, Mary Engel includes a bible verse as a testament to her undying faith and love for her son. In her own words, “It is our faith in Jesus that gives us the hope we need to carry on knowing that we will see our son again”.
